Talks and Workshops
As an ex-teacher, I love being with children and I’m happy to visit schools, book festivals and libraries to give author talks, readings and book signings.
I give a variety of age-appropriate talks based on one of my books. It could be learning about Daisy O’ Doyle and the suffragettes in Y5 & 6 which ends with dressing up as suffragettes and marching round the hall in a suffragettes’ parade. Or it could be acting out part of No1 Boy Detective in Gruesome Ghosts for Y3 and 4. Whatever it is, I hope the children will be intrigued, will learn something and have fun.
Length
Each event will take around one hour including a PowerPoint presentation (for the older ones), a reading, dressing up, acting…. Well, I could go on!
Each talk ends with a Q&A session which is always popular and often surprising!
